How may I resize a column that is naturally wider than the available display width, and hence the right divider of which cannot be reached?

In a data compare:

The width of the visible column is usually set to fit the current pane so the resize handle is available at the right. If it is not there, you can right-click on the column header and choose the "Resize to fit" option.

You can use the scroll bars to move to your next column.

If you have text details enabled, you can also resize using the column headers in the text details section to give yourself more header space to work with than you have in the left right panes.
