CAR Files

Hi,
Websphere provides a backup facility for their application servers which generates a .car file. This file is simply a .zip format with a different extension. Utilities such as winzip work with .car files transparently.

I'm trying to get BC3.0 to deal with .car files in the same way as it does .zip files.

I haven't been able to do so. Can anyone tell me what needs to be done to configure BC3.0?

Hello,

Yes, this can be configured in the Tools menu -> Options dialog. Then go to the Folder Views section and navigate the Archive Associations list. Go to the Zip section. Note there is a ";" delimited list of file masks. You can add ";*.car" to the end of this list to add it as a zip format, then restart BC3.

That worked nicely. I must have known how to do it at some point, since I had already added *.ear,*.war and *.bcpkg.
