Ignoring XML attributes in Beyond Compare 3

    Hello,

I have the beyond compare 3 program. I have downloaded all the XML plugins and I do not see any options on how to ignore attributes given an attribute name and an element name.

EX: if I want to ignore an attribute of element A, but still match the same attribute of element B, I don't see how to specify that.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, BC3 does not support conditional unimportance. If the attribute name is the same in both cases, the full grammar would need to include the node name as well, in order to make
<nodeNameA attribute unimportant, while other instances of attribute are important.

Defining text as unimportant can be done by defining grammar elements, then marking those elements as unimportant. We have a KB article and video guide here:

Let us know if you have any questions. A specific example may also help.
