    Ignore _vti_cnf during compare

One folder (development) has _vti_cnf all over the place. The other folder (production) doesn't.

Is there a way to tell Beyond Compare to always (always ALWAYS) ignore and never ever ever pay attention to _vti_cnf folders? Don't count them as orphans. Don't compare their contents. Pretend they are socially awkward and complete ignore their very existence?

    Thanks!

Yup. We have File Name filters (in the toolbar or in the Folder Compare's Session menu -> Session Settings, Name Filters tab). Here you can define a filter that matches on the folder name in the Exclude Folders section (which will then auto-populate the toolbar when you click Ok).

How does this work for you?

Yes yes! This is exactly it. And there's also room for thumbs.db!

      Thanks for the answer.

Just as additional information: Often, thumbs.db will already be excluded because we exclude protected operating system files by default. This is controlled in the Session menu -> Session Settings, Other Filters, DOS Attributes, and "exclude protected operating system files" is enabled by default.
