BC3 Synergy and XLS file comapre

Hi,

I am having an issue comparing xls spreadsheets using BC3 when BC3 is called from with in Synergy.

I can successfully compare spreadsheets using BC3 from outside of Synergy.

I have modified my ccm.user.properties as:
windows.tool.compare.binary=cmd /c start c\:\\Progra~1\\Beyond~1\\bcomp.exe "%file1" "%file2" "/fv" "/readonly"

What I get is a BC3 comparison in binary and not ASCII as expected.

I am using the latest version of BC3 and version 6.5 of Telelogic Synergy under Windows XP.

How should I configure the comparison of spreadsheets?

Hello,

You will want to use the %file_label variables as well. Please see our documentation here:

Otherwise, it is likely your file names passed in are temp names without the proper extension (.xls or .xlsx). At this point, BC3 can not recognize them as Excel files without the Excel extension, which is needed to perform the conversion from .xls to a readable format.
