If I open a workspace containing a Folder Compare session with one side addressing a folder on a removable disk drive slot having no disc, I get the a dialog
nine times (!), before the expected "Folder not available" dialog.

PS Also, upon Exiting, I get one of these dialogs.
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk3\DR6.
