Unfortunately, a Mirror would also replace files that are newer on the right. In one of his original posts, he lists the custom logic he uses and it does not match the default Update or Mirror commands. It is close to an Update, but deletes Orphans on the Right.
UPDATE: I see, and you are also performing on only selection, which you control with the display filters. That is similar to my initial suggestion, where he uses display filters to delete the Orphans.
