    Shell Namespace Extensions support

    Dear BC team,

    Are there any plans for supporting Explorer Shell Namespace Extensions as comparable locations?

    Addind this feature will allow using Beyond Compare with:
    * mobile devices connected via ActiveSync,
    * Bluetooth devices,
    * some media players which present themselves as SNE but not as a storage device,
    * PC-to-PC USB bridges.

    There are probably other use cases, though I'm personally interested in the first two.

    Thank you for the great product!

    Hello,

    Supporting these different features is something we would like to tackle in a future release, but is a large project and it would be some time before we could implement it.

    For now, we have a few workaround solutions to map such devices to a drive letter, remote path, or FTP.

    Such as these for PocketPC:

      Aaron,
      Thanks for your reply.
      I'll check out the FTP solution from the link you posted, I didn't know about it.
