hahaha I was reading this thread so seriously and then I realized that the first post was created 11 years ago. I am pretty sure by now, his problem must have been solved :-)

It can still rarely happen (a common factor is sometimes after a major upgrade to Windows), but the included registry file above can manually re-fix it.
