    Can BC3 do this?

Say I have two removable media drives (CD or flash drives), can BC compare the contents of one with the other?

Flash drives, you may be able to do it the standard way, with enough USB ports, but in the case of CD's, you would have to remove a CD, insert the other one.

Can BC3 (or even BC2) deal with this?

Yes, but you'll need to save one disc as a snapshot to do so. It can't load one CD, prompt for the other, then load it too, but you can load one CD, save it as a snapshot, and then compare the second CD to the snapshot of the first. If you save CRCs with the snapshot you can effectively get a content comparison, though it will be hash-based instead of byte-by-byte comparisons.

Thanks that worked perfectly. It was easy to create the snapshot, but not so obvious on how to load it back in again. (eventaully I realised the file open dialog knew how to parse snapshot files).

We haven't done it for the beta yet, but once the final release is out .bcss files will be associated with BC, so you'll be able to just double click them in Explorer to load them too.
