BC3 hangs after cut&paste during three way merge

    Hello,

When I perform a three way merge,
resolve the conflict by clicking on the red exlamation mark,
cut a line in the conflict area,
    paste it several lines higher,
scroll and click a bit in the bottom pane,
BCompare.exe starts using 100% CPU (of one CPU core) and doesn't react anymore.

I did manage to reproduce it three times out of four so far (with the same conflicted file).

I have attached some screenshots that might clarify things a bit.

Thanks for the screenshots. I am having difficulties getting your hang to reproduce. Would you be able to send us your example files to [email protected] (please include a brief description/link to forum in the email).

Are you able to reproduce the issue in the newest build (457)?

        Hello,

Yes, I can still reproduce this problem with build 457.
As you requested I have sent support an e-mail with more specifics and the related files.

        Kind regards,

            DKG,

Sorry for the trouble with our mail server. It scans attachments in email, and some times it falsely marks email as a virus.

Our mail server will scan attachments that are attached as text or inside zip files. Please try attaching your files inside a .rar or 7-zip archive, I don't think our server will scan those archive types.

Or try renaming the file extention from .zip to .piz (Scooter can rename it back)

                Hello,

I have resent the message and this time it seams to have gotten through.
Renaming the .zip file extension to .piz apparently did the trick.

                Kind regards,

                Gerrit Jan Doornink

As a follow-up, there were several changes in this area in the latest (458/459) release that seem to have fixed this issue. If it comes back, we can communicate further via email or via the forum.
