    Congrats on Journeyman!

I agree that a warning dialog on overwriting a file would be nice even if the ability to rename dup files automatically isn't implemented. More to the point, I would consider it a bug if I have my Folder Views Confirmations set to [x] Confirm replacing files during move and was not warned.

Just wondering if we will at least get a warning in this situation with the release.
      Thanks.

Waited about a month. No answer.

What's the final 'poop' on this?

          Seeker,

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

A warning when filenames collide from Copy to Folder and Move To Folder is on our wish list, but we won't be able to do it for the first BC 3.0 release.

            Thanks for the response.

Given the length of time for the release (and I am sure you are busy) - is at least a warning screen here on the table, or is it pushed way back, thinking not many will care?

            Just curious.

Given the time it takes to get a response in this thread, I think I know the answer here.

You'd think that DATA LOSS would have some priority - even if just a warning screen.

              But I guess not.

                Seeker,

We'll have a change in our next release (BC 3.0.5) that should improve this behavior.

Thank you - I love Beyond Compare, so this 'miss' was really bothering me, as I do use this feature (carefully given the potential for data loss).
