    BC4 drag & drop folder

In BC 4.2.8.23479 Folder Compare, I can not paste (drag & drop) a folder as before in BC3 and BC2.
Now I need to copy the full folder name.
When i launch a new Folder Compare session the 2 pannels are Editing "disable".
And I don"t find anythings in the Forum.
    What am I missing.
    Thank's for your help.

I'm not sure what is causing the issue. Please send your Beyond Compare settings to [email protected] and we'll investigate. To save your settings to a file, open Help > Support, then click the Export button.

        Hello,

Thanks for the settings. How are you launching BC4? From a Desktop shortcut with any added properties? From a command line or external tool?

If you could email or post a couple full screen screenshots of your current view that would be helpful. Your settings appear to be in order, and do not have any editing disabled options enabled.

          Hello

Launching BC4 From a Desktop shortcut
          Target "C:\Program Files\Beyond Compare\BCompare.exe"
          Start in "C:\Program Files\Beyond Compare"
          Run as administrator
Start New Folder Compare : Edit Disable ! (see attachement)

            Hello,

That's it. Run as Administrator disables drag and drop, as a Windows security convention. It's actually enforced by Windows itself.

There's a blog post you can read about the subject here:

Ok, thanks for your link to the blog,
but even like that (running as a disabled admin) this does not solve the problem.

                Hello,

Before you disabled Run as Administrator, did you see a UAC prompt each time you boot the application?

With Run as Administrator disabled, are you still seeing a UAC prompt?

                  Hello,
                  Ok I found what'is about:
disable Run as Administrator was set on the shortcut
after disable Run as Administrator on C:\Program Files\Beyond Compare\BCompare.exe
the folder compare panels are still Editing disable (on empty path) but folder drag and drop is allow.
                  Thank for your help

                    Hello,

Editing is disabled when no item is loaded, but as soon as you load any item the editing should be enabled. There are other options which can enforce an editing disabled state, such as the Session Settings, Specs tab, or if launched with /ro parameters.
