BC4 install/run on Chromebook Linux just works

    Hi Scooter Software peeps

This is just report that I have just installed BC4 on my Google Pixelbook Chromebook laptop.

I had already enabled the newly supported Linux virtual machine.

The install was easy. I downloaded BC4 64 bit deb file to the Linux folder in the file system.

Then I ran the commands listed here: https://www.scootersoftware.com/down..._linux_install

Then I type in bcompare in the terminal or click the icon in the app shelf.

Bingo! BC4 loads and runs as it always has - and fingers crossed - always will.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Great to hear. Just in case the KB article moves or is updated, for the forum archive, I think these are the commands you are referencing, where you could replace the original wget with downloading the .deb directly from our Downloads webpage.

    For a Terminal Install:

    wget https://www.scootersoftware.com/bcom...3150_amd64.deb
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install gdebi-core
    sudo gdebi bcompare-4.2.6.23150_amd64.deb

      Hi,

      since BC4 don't have ARM-CPU binary version,
OP's finding likely limits to chromeOS-x86 platform.
Which is a minority in the ChromeOS platform.
This wont help ChromeOS-arm to take over windows-x86's place,
      unless BC4 do something.
