BC4 crash on startup

Hi,

I have an installation of MacOS 10.13.6 where BC4 4.2.6, build 23150 cannot start. It crashes the split second it shows the window.

Anyone experiencing the same?

I have attached the stack dump / error report.

Does it help if you reboot your computer?

If a restart doesn't fix the problem, please send us Beyond Compare's crash logs if they exist and recent console messages for Beyond Compare.


Crash logs are saved in the folder /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Beyond Compare/ with the name BcCrash*.log.


To display console messages, open Console in the Applications\Utilities folder. Search for "bcompare". You can select messages to copy and paste or use "File > Save Selection As" to save them to a file.

We discussed this issue further by email. It appears the startup crash is specific to Beyond Compare 4 on a macOS 10.13.6 virtual machine running in VMWare Fusion. We've duplicated the crash in-house and added it to the bug list. The same crash does not happen when the virtual machine is macOS 10.13.4 or macOS 10.14 beta.
