Compare two folder struktures - any file don't exit on taget?

    Hi
    Scope:
I have a lot of folders in a directory structure, D:\pictures\
I want to get rid of a lot of old backups.
I want to compare all the files in
D:\pictures and sub folders, with an external disk: E:\ and all sub folders.
    I need the following informations:
Do I have any files in D:\pictures\ - that doesn't exit some where on E:\

    Hello,

You can use the View menu -> Ignore Folder Structure. This removes all subfolders and places all files in a big bucket.

However, if you have duplicate file names, the alignment happens before the comparison, so it may not align the pair that you expect. If there are duplicate names, it will align one pair, and the other same named files will be Orphans.

      Hi Aaron
Thank you very much for the answer ☺️
I'm sorry, but I think you misunderstood my question, I'll try to explain it in another way:

      Scope:
I have a lot of folders in a directory structure, D:\pictures\
In the whole structure, there are 74598 files (pictures) in 1235 folders.
I want to make a clean up in a lot of old backups stored in subfolders on E:\.
(in fact I have several external disks with backups)
So - I want to compare all the files in*
D:\pictures and sub folders, with the disk: E:\ and all it's sub folders.*
I think it's called an any to any compare ☺️
So - every single file (74598 pictures)
needs to be compared with all files on E:\ - in all subfolders.
I need to get the following result:
A list of files (and the complete path) in D:\pictures\ - that doesn't exits somewhere on E:\
Is this possible with Beyond Compare?

That workflow is not possible in BC4. The closest mode we have is Ignore Folder Structure, which performs the alignment first to make a pair, and then scans the pair. BC4 does not support scanning all possible combinations before the alignment step.
