Can I set default File Type for Text Compare?

Every time I start a new one, I have to change it from Everything Else to the one I created ("Columns7to72").

Hello,

You can edit Everything Else in the Tools menu -> File Formats dialog to give that specific grammars. It's near the bottom of the list, with the white paper icon for Text Compare. Or edit your custom File Format with an extension (*.txt?) that matches your file type.
