Bug? In Hex compare, paste inserts even in overwrite mode

I think this may be a bug.

Using hex compare, and set to overwrite mode, typing in characters or bytes overwrites existing bytes. However, if I paste (in the text colum), the paste buffer gets inserted rather than overwriting the appropriate number of bytes/characters.

BC4 4.2.3 on Win7-64

I'm still seeing this behavior in BC4 (4.3.4). Is this a bug or intended behavior? How do you paste in Hex compare so that it overwrites instead of inserts?

Sorry, this is still an open tracker entry. It was originally built to only insert on paste, and there haven't been any changes to this behavior yet. The Overwrite/Insert prompt only acts on typing.
