BC 4.2.2: Folder Compare: Update dialog preview list can take a long time to populate

If often have to compare to folders which contain multiple sub-folders and files. After the compare is complate and I choose, eg. Update Right, it often takes a while for the preview files/folders list to be populated (with the destination/right USB drive light showing it's being accessed).

I was expecting it to be instant since surely BC already has all the relevant info from the source and dest drives, after completing the Folder Compare.

Why does BC still need to access the dest/right drive to populate the preview list of files/folders to copy (which results in the delay) ?

This is using BC 4.2.2 on Mac OS X 10.11.6.

Forgot to mention that BC does indicate above left of log at bottom that it's scanning folders next to progress bar.

Why does it need to scan the folders again when it should already have this info from Folder Compare, which has happened just before ?

      Hello,

Depending on Settings (and by default), some items might not be built during the initial comparison, such as top level orphan folders. Before a copy, all folders need to be built for the transfer. If you go to the Beyond Compare menu -> Session Settings, Handling tab, you can enable the initial scan to act on more (or less) items. From the main view, an Expand All command would also build all items in subfolders (in order to display them).
