Beyond Compare 3 and Office 2016 Compatibility

Hello, We use Beyond Compare 3 for many years with office 2007, we do a major upgrade a the moment and it's office 2016 click to run 365 that we will use in the future.

I have a series of image that are quite clear that Beyond Compare 3 is probably not compatible with office 2016.
Just look into the two image that I put here, the software is probably unable to read the new way the word and excel script are done.

So the question that needs to be asked, does BC3 can read office 2016 files, or do we need BC4, also, if BC4 is not yet capable of handling office 2016 file, when will it be able to.

    Hello,

Short answer is the Click to Run install does not support automation (used for conversion) and switching to a regular install should get things working again for BC3:
Instructions to switch install types are available here:

BC4 includes internal tools for helping convert Word and Excel (rather than using the install of Office), which could work around this for docx and xlsx files. If needed, you can test the trial of BC4 before purchase (without removing or altering BC3) to see if it works well for you:

I might be interested to switch to msi office, so I clicked on the link that You gave, but after that there is another link that points to a non existing server.
Has anybody a link to switch Office 2013 from click-to-run to msi?

Thank You very much and regards
