Would you please post some hash info with the releases?

A Writer writes from North Carolina: "What do I look for in A excellent cold-weather sleeping bag?" By Ohio: "I am planning a Montana mule deer/elk hunt in October and need a hot sleeping system. What do you recommend?"

Quite simply, "down." The world's warmest bags contain Down, waterfowl and poultry's underwear. The upside of down? Besides great heat, it offers scant weight and lofts greater than synthetic fills (synfills), an edge it retains up to three times more than the most effective laboratory-hatched synthetic. Small things sacks are also compressed into by it.

But there's a downside to down, also. If you plan on buying Because the material is expensive, a bag filled with this insulation that is natural, prepare to skip another car payment. The price on Marmot's Copher version was $600. Ouch!

Sure, affordable bags that are down can be found, but only because a Manufacturer claims that a tote is down-filled, don't assume it's quality product. Bags branded "down-filled" can comprise up to 20-percent feathers, which reduces attic, resiliency and ultimately insulation performance. Buy a bag labeled "100-percent down," which by law will guarantee you a goose/duck down load.

Then Start Looking for a term known as "fill power," the Industry standard that rates down with its ability to loft. The rating is provided in cubic inches per ounce (one ounce of 600-fill down will occupy 600 cubic inches, by way of instance). The higher die number, the better the down. Durable bags use down with at least a 550-fill rating. The bags feature die lightest, most fluffy down, 700-fill. All you need on: http://megacampinglife.com/top-revie...ng-guide-2017/

An oft-heard knock on bird down is that it loses 75 to 80 Percentage of its warmth when wet. But who would like to stay in a sleeping bag that is sopped if the match is some other synthetic material, Lite Loft, Polarguard or down? Wet is moist. And although it's also true that quicker dries out, down is still.

    Synfill Pleasures

OX so synthetic insulations can not match down because of its Warmth, light weight and compact durability, but they do possess many advantages over the insulation that is pure. Synfills consist that when wet dry faster, than down, and retain more of their insulating properties. For these reasons, there is a bag that is synfill ideal for campers heading to Northern areas and cold, moist climates.

Artificial insulations cost less than down, and a few are Designed to resist mold and water (search for the "hydrophobic" and "non-allergenic" labels). Moreover, a synthetic bag could be merely tossed into the basement washer; a down bag ought to be dry cleaned.

Artificial insulations fall to two fiber classes and continuous-filament. The short-staple variety (of which Lite Loft, Microloft
and Primaloft will be the industry leaders) pack smaller and test slightly warmer for their weight, whilst continuous-filament insulations (Polarguard HV is the only premium synfill so constructed) keep their loft longer.

    The Shell Game

Your bag's outer shell is its first defense against the Components. No sleeping bag shell is designed to be totally watertight--to do so will keep perspirationbut some materials are better at repelling water and wind.

Ripstop nylon uses a checkerboard pattern as its title implies Of thick threads to halt the spread of minor rips. The fabric is strong and highly wind-resistant for its own weight but is fair at repelling water. Nylon taffeta, by comparison, has a softer texture than ripstop, but is bad honest for wind resistance, and poorer for turning back water.

Upper-end bags feature shells of And breathable materials. The laminate and its successor at Gore, Dryloft, are the finest of this breed here. Manufacturers have jumped to Gore's new cloth, and the rationale is simple. The seam-sealing that's imperative to create Core-Tex waterproof has proven impractical together with the multiple complex and baffles stitching in today's bags.
Dryloft is waterproof yet is 40 percent more breathable than Gore-Tex, allowing body moisture to pass freely throughout the shell at a procedure that dries the bag from the inside out.

Following the Gore cloths in shell performance microfibers. Super Microft, Pertex and Versatech would be the leaders in this group. Consisting of woven fibers, microfiber fabrics allow just water and air vapor to pass them through. Their construction repels water and wind better than ordinary nylon shells (although not as well as Gore cloths) and allows for natural breathability. (For a look at the popular synthetic shell and fill materials in more detail, see the accompanying sidebar, "The Synthetic Maze."

    Buyer Education

In their pursuit to get a bag Fantastic comfort, with good value and long Service, buyers will definitely confront their share of hyperbole and industry double-speak. How can you type the talk? Consider these factors when you are ready to buy:

    * There Is Not Any universal warmth-rating system: When a Corporation Rates its sleeping bags, the information is meaningless except to establish that organization's array of offerings. Discount ratings by at least 10[degrees].

    * Personal metabolism: What you've eaten or drunk you Wear to bed, tent location and type are all factors that affect you will feel in a bag. Look at buying a bag rated for temperatures that are lower than you think you'll encounter, and vice versa should you chill easily.

    * Roominess: Purchase a bag with much more space than you think you'll Need, but don't overdo it. Remember that the bag is warmed by the sleeper, the bag doesn't heat the sleeper. The tote's main aim is to slow die loss of body heat by convection (through perish air over and around the bag) and conduction (through the ground under the tote). Lightweight and easily packable bags would be the quickest since they trap air better, to heat, but they limiting. Rectangular-cut bags are roomy, but they are also heavy, laborious and bulky. A semi-rectangular tote is a good compromise. (http://megacampinglife.com/what-a-di...s-for-camping/)

    * Structure: Better luggage feature insulation segments (known as Batts) stitched into inner and outer cubes in an offset pattern to get rid of the liner-to-shell pinch points that may lead to cold spots. (See the accompanying sidebar, "Toasty By Design.")

    * Extras: Additional items are Size 8 or 7 nylon dual Zippers that self-heal (fix themselves if die dosed zipper is compelled
apart) and are protected by draft tubes. Zippers have generally been relegated to entry-level bags --they wear seize up in intense cold and resist recovery. Also search for independent and liberally stuffed chest and head guards with drawstrings that cozy down with barrel locks, and extra padding in the base end (known as the foot box) of this tote.

    The Artificial Maze

    SHELL FABRICS

    * DRYLOFT highly resistant to Water is laminated to an outer sleeping bag shell of polyester. It has quickly replaced as a shell at bags, because it's 40 percent more breathable. It is the leader in fabrics.

    * VERSATECH is a microfiber shell material that Due to its Higher fiber count can claim wind-shedding skills and better water than regular nylon shells. It's available on midrange bags.

    INSULATION FIBERS

Because all insulations react to some number of Conditions a trip may present--improper off-season storage, high humidity user metabolism etc--there is no market standard for synfills. But, Microloft, Lite Loft, Polarguard HV and Primaloft are. Each has its individual merits; all are found in cold-weather bags that are quality.

    * the top-end insulation from Hoechst Celanese, POLARGUARD HV, is

said to be 25 percent lighter than its Polarguard predecessor. Because A bag loses loft with its fiber's breakdown Relations, Polarguard's

Continuous-filament construction gives it an extended life span Than the competition. But it is bulkier to package.

    * LITE LOFT is your brand new top-of-the-line Thinsulate insulation from 3M.

The synfill consists Bonded (other Short-staple fills use heavy resins) to form a lightweight lattice that

Has proven highly resilient, even when wet.

    * MICROLOFT, with fibers thinner than a human hair, is DuPont's newest, and best. Microloft's Ability to drape

Easily round a sleeper is 1 way it outperforms competing fills. Decision PRIMALOFT from Albany Internation is bonded polyester, a nice that bills itself as the synthetic down. Though it doesn't Seem to loft in addition to other synfills, it is.

    Toasty By Design

Not all sleeping bags are made equal ... literally. Construction layouts are Varied and numerous. And some perform better than many others. In short That layer the insulating material sections (batts) over every other (like the shingle Overlap down slant-baffle and synthetic designs) eliminate the shell-to-liner Stitches that producecold stains in quilted and vertical-baffle bags. Quilted Layouts with two or more counter tops layers additionally eliminate pinch points. Another Where the construction feature available on luggage is a differential cut Bag lining is cut shorter in diameter. This keep excessive linear Stuff from bunching up--and insulation from shifting--when the bag is folded Over for use.

    Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. We have many different installers, most of which have an internal method of verification. On Windows, you can right-click to Properties -> Digital Signature, and view the Details on either/both to see if status: OK. On Mac, the .zip installers include CRC which you can run with a Verify. .rpm and .deb packages run a verification step when the OS attempts to use them.

We'll look into generating, posting, and updating hashes with each release.
