When I close text compare, CPU still keep high.

After I close folder compare, bcompare exit completely, CPU restore to normal.

because I few do the same things like this (bcompare, and keep change),
after reopen folder bcompare with same two folder, and keep some diffrence
file open and close several time. ( I usual do this often, few cause CPU high)
the CPU high situation is not happen again.

So, I think this situation only happen in some files keep frequently changed.
bcompare auto refresh logic exist some bug ...

          Hello,

I have tested this out on a supported OS, where I have two tabs (Folder and Text Compare), and I externally edit a text file in the Text Compare. Then, going back to BC4 prompts to Refresh (yes). I have repeated this several times, but have not seen a change in CPU usage.

Is your text file located locally, such as on your Desktop\?
Is your text file a plain text Everything Else format file?

If you are still having trouble, please email us your BCSupport.zip from the Help menu -> Support dialog, and a pair of sample files to test with. There may be something context specific, or this may be a bug with Slackware.

            >> and I externally edit a text file in the Text Compare
I edit serveal files repeatly, suppose, file1.txt file2.txt in two folder, edit file1 use a external editor, edit several times, return bcompare, it auto-refresh(because I settings it not prompt), and open file2 use a external editor, do same things.

i think following config is maybe affect:

            - settings auto refresh when editor without prompt
            - edit same file use a external editor, e.g. emacs.

              Hello,

How many edits on average before you start to see issues? I've set that setting with a pair of plain text files, and edit one side repeatedly a couple dozen times, but am not seeing the same behavior.

If you can email your BCSupport.zip, you may have another setting I can try testing with set. If you can, also include a pair of sample files, in case it is grammar or format related. When you email us at [email protected] please also include a link back to this forum thread.
