    Folder view sort problem:

Couple of months ago I started having this issue in Folder View. So far I've seen this only when one of the folders is a remote one over SFTP. The directories on the left and right panels appear in different order. The SFTP view appears to be incorrectly sorted. See in the attached screenshot - "morgan" appears before "mock", even though it is supposed to be alphabetical in the ascending order. Local view appears correctly. I did try to click the "Name" column title several times.

    Hello,

Thanks. Which version of Beyond Compare are you currently running (Help menu -> About)?

All minor updates (3.3.13 for any 3.x) are free for 3.x users. You can use the Help menu -> Check for Updates or the blue Update Available link in the upper right to update. You can also go to Tweaks (Ctrl+Shift+T) and in the Folder Views tab, enable "Include debug messages in log". A log with debug messaging will help us see the LIST information to see if there's something unexpected occurring in the folder names.

        Hello,

For BC4, you can enable debug loggin in the Tools menu -> Options dialog, Tweaks tab, Log panel section: FTP Trace and Debug messages (and summaries, warnings, etc). Could you load these two directories and email us a screenshot of the compare along with the saved log (right click the green log pane after loading the folders) to [email protected] along with a link back to this forum thread for our reference? This will help provide if there's a difference in structure or name with the problem directories that isn't easily, visibly apparent.

Not only there seems to be an issue with out of order, but there is one also with misalignment.
The two bas and morgan are aligned, whereas there is an alignment of one mock and one ret, and another mock and another ret are alone.
If You look at the sftp with another ftp client software, such as filezilla, what do You see?

          Regards

Rodolfo, as far as I am concerned it is the same issue. ret and ret would be aligned if mock was correctly sorted

You have a alignment override that is forcing "ret" on the left to align with "mock" on the right. That results in the "mock" on the left and the "ret" on the right being an orphan, and "mock" on the right is sorted after "morgan" because the "ret" that it's lined up is.

For other users finding this post: check the Folder Compare's Session menu -> Session Settings dialog, Misc tab for a list of defined Alignment Overrides (Pro specific feature). You can then delete (or create new ones).

If you use the right-click Align With command in the main view, this will create an Alignment Override entry in this tab as well.
