Confirmed that that fixes it for me, I can live without line numbers until the next beta

I'm having a different issue now though. If I open a new file comparison view, Cmd+W does not close the window until I click to another tab (or another application) then click back into BC4, instead it inserts a w.
Furthermore, backspace adds a weird character:

Yes, known issue and has a fix in the next 4.2 release. Please give that a test once it is available.

Beyond Compare 4.2 is now available; it fixes the Cmd+W failing to close comparison views bug.
