The .nib looks like a container file, and not a plain text file. The Text Compare only supports opening plain text files, or files that have passed through a conversion process. If you open the .nib file in a plain text editor (like Sublime Text 2), does it show xml content?
If there is a command line utility to extract the .xml file from the .nib, then we could use that process to open the file by incorporating it into a custom file format.
