How to not open a same comparisons twice?

I have BCompare running with p4v; , when I Ctrl+D on a file it would bring up a comparison tab; but when I Ctrl+D multiple times on the same file, say 5 times, it would opens up 5 tabs that does the exact same comparisons (i.e. left and right file paths are the same).

    How to avoid this behavior?

    Thanks!

Sorry, I'm not aware of a way to avoid this. Beyond Compare doesn't do anything to detect that you already have a comparison of the same files open. If you launch a comparison of the same pair of files 5 times, it will always open 5 comparison tabs of those same files.
