How do I disable sounds (beeps) on dialogs?

The prompt dialogs do make annoying beeps when the appear and I would like to disable them. How can I do that?

Example: Do you want to save changes...

    Hello,

This beep is the system sound controlled in the Control Panel, Sound section, "Change system sounds", Windows -> Exclamation.

Just opening up an old topic

Beyond Compare throws the system beep even when the "Play user interface sounds" option is off.
So it does seem like BC tells the system to beep specifically. And not just a system thing.
Would be nice to be able to disable this inside BC.

      Running on: Catalina 10.15.3

Thanks for the report. I have reproduced the behavior on MacOS that you are seeing and we'll investigate.
