    Alignment options by file format

I apologize if I'm missing it, but I can't seem to find a way to set the alignment style by file format. I have a custom format that is essentially a time history of certain values so I always want to compare them 'unaligned', but I haven't found a way to make that happen.

Alignment is set per session, not per file format. It is possible to change the default alignment type for new sessions. In the Text Compare, click the Rules toolbar button. Go to the Alignment tab. Select "Unaligned". Change the dropdown at the bottom of the dialog from "Use for this view only" to "Also update session defaults", then click OK.
