Better use of filters

I like Beyond Compare very much. I have only an important question. When I establish a filter to "Not older than...", what I see is many yellow folders. They disappear (when the condition given is fulfilled), when doing click on them, ONE BY ONE. But handling many folders, this procedure is slow. I'd like to see only the items that meet the given condition.
Am I doing something wrong?
Is it a characteristic of the trial version?
If I buy Beyond Compare how it works in this matter?

In session settings, choose the option to "automatically scan subfolders in background".
