    Default "File Encoding Error" ...??

I'm comparing 2 text files, and am seeing the error "File Encoding Error (Line 30991)"

    What does this mean??

The current file Encoding is shown in the upper status bar of each text pane. We use an algorithm to help detect, but this does not guarantee the correct encoding. The error means there is text on that line that does not match the current encoding. Either this is an error with the file (there is improperly encoded text inserted into the file) or the current detection is incorrect and needs to be manually overridden.

Do you know the expected encoding of your files (ANSI, UTF8, etc)? And which is currently detecting in the status bar? What does the text on the trouble line look like?
