    Backup files before copy

    Hi.

In the option "backup files before copy" is any way we can setup to avoid Beyond Compare overwrite previous backup versions?

    Example

    Master:
    abc.txt (file from april 04)

    Destination
    abc.txt (file from april 03)
    abc.txt.bak (backup from april 02)

abc.txt from april 04 will be copied and overwrite april 03 version. 03 version will have the bak extension at the end.
abc.txt.bak from april 02 will be lost.

Any idea how I can avoid to lost old backups?

Any option to add the date to the end or into the filename so we can keep historic old versions?

    Hello,

BC4 only offers one level of backups. For multiple levels, you'll need to use Copy To Folder to perform a manual backup step in the Folder Compare session. Assuming you have a selection, use Copy To Folder to copy the Destination side to the backup location. Then proceed with the originally intended sync of Source to Destination.

Adding a date and performing multiple levels of backup is on our wishlist.
