My dumb question about licensing ... after a clean install of the OS first!

    Hi, all.

Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, "upgraded" my Windows 7 system to Windows 10 when I powered up one day and went to get coffee.

Everything seems to be working (whew!), but I had been planning to do a clean install at some point anyway on a different drive (with more space) - after 3 years, my laptop is full of a lot of cruft at this time.

So, how do I deal with the licensing issue? Do I need to "deactivate" first (if so, how?) on the existing OS drive before I re-install BC Compare on the new drive after re-installing Windows 10 on that new drive?

A related question: as I recall, the licensing is is "per user", right? Meaning that I can install the software on more than one of my personal systems (nobody else use them)?

    Thanks in advance,

    Z

No, you don't need to deactivate it. The license works on the honor system. Just register the new install and you're good to go. Yes, you can install it on multiple computers as long you're the only one using it.
