SFTP doesn't work with WPEngine

Up until recently, I used BC to connect to my WPEngine sites.
But now it doesn't seem to work anymore.

I get the following message:

09/11/15 03:43:37 PM Unable to load sftp://[email protected]:2222: Connection lost (error code is 115)

Some notes:
- It used to work until a few weeks ago
- The port 2222 is what WPEngine uses for SFTP
- Using a regular SFTP client works perfectly well

What should I do to troubleshoot this?

This is due to a recent configuration change on wpengine's part, interacting with some behavior we have to avoid bugs in old SFTP servers. We have reproduced the issue in house, and are going to fix it, but it won't be in 4.1.2 since that's almost finished testing. For now, the only workaround is to downgrade to BC3. License downgrades are free if you need a key.

If it helps, you can have BC3 and BC4 installed at the same time on the same system. This way you can use BC4 for day to day work, and the BC3 install for this specific task.

The WPEngine SFTP bug is fixed in Beyond Compare 4.1.3.
