Export Settings - many added lines in exported files

    BC 4.0.7.19761
    Ubuntu 12.04.5

The Tools >> Export Settings... function produces an archive BCSettings.bcpkg that contains files that differ from the files in ~/.config/bcompare/:

    1. The files in the archive are all dated August 15, 2007, although the contents appear recent.

    2. There don't seem to be any changed lines in the exported files, but there are many lines added.

    Is this the expected result?

    Hello,

Correct. The Export includes default values in the .xml, in case it is importing into a different version we try to handle those scenarios. The config directory does not store a setting if it's still at a default value.

The internal .xmls within the .bcpkg are marked with 2007. It's not something we were explicitly setting, since the bcpkg is generally used as a whole file; but we don't block users from peeking in and looking inside.
