Default External format and 3-way merge

Hi. We're trying to control an external tool (SimDiff) from Beyond Compare. We've got it setup & working for 2-way compare, but don't seem to be able to do 3-way compare, merging and such like.

I've shown our external format options in the attached, but you can also see there's just 2 parameters available (%1 for left, %2 for right). Is there any way this could be extended to support passing on all parameters that BC can receive on the command line (ancestor, output, file names, etc).

    Thanks.

    Hello,

External formats are generally executed from the Folder Compare, which only supports 2 sides. Are you attempting to execute this from the Folder Merge session type? This is support we can look into adding, to the External format or the Open With option, but isn't supported in the current version.

Can you be more specific about which command line parameters you'd need, besides ancestor and output?

Beyond Compare 4.1 beta now includes merge support for external formats.

External formats in 4.1 beta add definitions for "Quick merge command line" and "Merge view command line".
