    Installation / Update

I do not login to my workstation as an Administrator and I run Beyond Compare all the time. When there's an update, I always jump on it but I am unable to upgrade because I'm not an Administrator on this machine and the updater does not attempt to elevate permissions during the update. My other option is, of course, to download to desktop then run as Administrator making it a multi-step operation and not so convenient.

Would it be too terribly difficult to attempt elevation and request Administrator Credentials during the update?

Thanks for the feedback. We do not currently support elevating a UAC prompt, but it is on our wishlist to try and support this. In the meantime, you would need to download to Desktop, and then elevate/install, as you found.
