17762 Suggestion: persists Session settings tab selection

17762 Suggestion: make the Session settings tab selection persist across successive presentations of the dialogue box, to eliminate the need for the user to restore his preferred and previous selection each time.

    Hello Chris,

The Session Settings dialog loads to a specific tab depending on how you launched into it. From the menu, it is always the first tab. If you use the Rules button it goes straight to Importance. If you use the Filters button it goes straight to the Name Filters tab. For common actions, we have a specific command to launch to that tab; then you can control exactly which tab you go to.

Which tab do you find yourself using frequently that you need it to remember?

In Text Compare yes, but in this session type - Folder Compare - it goes to Comparison.

Top of the list is Name Filters. I can find no menued or menuable command that goes straight there.

Top of my Text Compare list is Alignment.

Something apart from persistence thing that would reduce the amount of retabbbing here would be for the dialogue box to offer Apply and ideally be non-modal.

If you click the Filters toolbar button (next to the filters textbox and suppress filters button) this should take you straight there. You could even assign it a hotkey in the Customize Commands dialog. We don't have a method to go straight to the Alignment tab, but thanks for the feedback.

Making the dialog non-modal or having a different interface for applying and previewing filters is on the Customer Wishlist.
