How to ignore blank lines while doing folder compare

    Hi,

I have two folders with files, the file names are different and the files might contain extra blank lines, how do i make BC 3.3.8 to ignore the extra blank lines.
Basically need to compare contents of folders and ignore blank lines while comparing.

    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Sriraman.

    Hello,

If the file names are different, the files won't align. First, the files must align before the comparison can be run. This can be done manually using Align With, or with BC3 Pro using the Session Settings, Misc tab, Alignment Overrides (to set a rule which aligns files of a specific name mask).

Once aligned, double click a pair of files. Extra blank lines should already be ignored by default. You can then run a Rules-based compare to run this type of scan on all aligned files in the Folder Compare.
