On a dialog like this I'd expect a blue border around the Cancel button, so it can be activated with the spacebar.

Thanks for the input. Our normal hotkey for Cancel is Esc. I tried out Safari to see if it has similar default behavior, and in its dialogs Cancel does not automatically have a blue border or offer a keyboard navigation to Cancel (allowing the Spacebar commit).

Do you have an example program we could look at to investigate this behavior?

You are quite right. I am forgetting that Esc is already a shortcut for Cancel. The blue border is for those cases where there is a third button.
