How to ignore ANSI format between PC and Unix

    Hi,

I'm comparing two folders. One folder was generated from PC and another one is from Unix. When I compare these two folders, it shows up as different, but when I look at the contents, they are same. Only difference is ANSI-PC and ANSI-Unix. Is there a way to ignore this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

You will want to review this KB article for setting up BC3 to ignore this difference:

The short answer is that the default Folder Compare runs a timestamp/size comparison, and since the sizes are different due to the different character, the files are marked as different. However, if you add a "Rules-based scan" which is the same thing as double-clicking and viewing the files, this will return the results you expect.
