    Two Wishes/Suggestions

    Dear Sir,

    1. In Windows8 as well as in Windows7, There is a feature:
Change Folder & Search Options > View > Use CheckBoxes to Select items

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBD4Hf671HU
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRgRY3P4oQk

Can you please provide same feature in Folder Compare?

    2. In BeyondCompare View > Legend; displays a guide to the various folder icon color combinations. However; it seems to have explanations for upto two types of differences only. I have come across situations
when a folder holds more than two types of differences. For example the folders can have (A)Orphans (B) New/Differences and (C)Older Files. In such instances the actual folder compare visual does not guide that we might be having Orphans also inside the folder. Can you please manage to look into it.

    With Regards

    Hello,

    1. Thanks for the suggestion. This is on our Customer Wishlist.

    2. In the scenario where there are Orphans, Newer/Different, and Older files, the folder color would be both red and blue to indicate that there are Newer/Different and Orphan files. It would not have a 3rd slot to also show Grey (Older) items, but if expanded this would be revealed. Are you seeing different behavior? Are you using the latest release of BC 3 (3.3.7), which is a free update for all BC3.x users?

      Hello,

I have a Folder "AB"; it has two subfolders "A" and "B". Subfolder "A" contains Newer files and is correctly colored Red. Subfolder "B" has orphans and Difference Files and is correctly colored Yellow and Blue.

Problem is with folder "AB" coloring. It is colored Yellow and Red. I would have preferred it to be colored Yellow, Blue and Red. (Please note: the main folder is not colored Red and Blue as mentioned by you - though even that will not be informative enough)

You are correct that if expanded the colors of subfolders are correct. However, we need to be aware that Orphans exist; so as to be better informed about need to expand.

Please manage to look into it. Folders with Three color icons where required will make the view more informative.

Could you post a screenshot? If there is any yellow (unscanned) items in a folder, then the entire folder should be Yellow.

The Session Settings, Handling tab determines which folders should be automatically scanned and colored. By default "Automatically scan subfolders in background" should be enabled. Are these top-level orphan subfolders? If so, enable "Automatically scan top-level orphan subfolders", which will then color them without needing to expand them.

We do not currently offer checkbox selection, but it is on our Customer Wishlist.
