    How to remove BC3 Beta?

    Hi,

I installed the BC3 build 452 beta on my Ubuntu 8.04 machine some time ago. Today I finally get around to install the latest production release on the machine but when I start the program I get a message saying that the beta program has expired, please visit our website for a new version. Clicking ok just terminates the program. I tried using synaptec to completely remove the BC3 package and then reinstall. I also tried removing the .bcompare directory to no avail. Thanks in advance for any suggestions on how to resolve this!

    Hi John,

how did you install that version? As *.deb via package management, or from *.tar.gz?

What does the command "which bcompare" give as result in a shell?

    Bye

      Christoph,

For what its worth, I had installed using .deb, but with some extra work I was able to resolve the problem on my own by manually deleting some files that had apparently been left behind in the beta install and then reinstalling using .deb. So far it appears to be working fine. Thanks again for your willingness to help.
