    No tarballs?

    What is the reason you are no longer providing a tarball archive for BC 4.1?

    We do. You can find the tar here:

    We removed it from the main Download page as many users had trouble installing it. It is generally recommended to use either the .deb or .rpm installers for your OS, 32bit or 64bit as appropriate, depending on which your OS uses and if it is a 32bit or 64bit OS. These installers will auto-handle all dependencies and will generally "just work."

      Thank you, that is helpful. I'm using Gentoo Linux, and I have an ebuild script that downloads the tarball and installs from there. I'd rather not have to rewrite the script for an rpb/deb file.
