    mp4 metadata

When doing folder comparison's, when hitting Enter on an mp3 file that shows as different will display the metadata of the mp3, which is invaluable for seeing what changed (since it's almost never the song itself).

However, mp4 files (e.g. encoded by or purchased from iTunes) don't do this — they instead show a binary comparison, which is pretty useless.

Why doesn't BC show the metadata for mp4's?

    Hello,

Our MP3 Compare session opens and parses MP3 Tags. Other audio formats use different metadata which we don't currently support, but is on our wishlist.

Well, iTunes files don't really qualify as "other" (Ogg yes, iTunes no), but thanks. Hope they're really, really close to the top of the list.

Nice, I'll look forward to that update.
