I should also add this is fully testable in the trial mode, so you can test any workflow before purchase is necessary.

Yes. First, launch the interface and open your files and configure the columns/Key/etc, and from the Table Compare's Session Settings dialog to Also Update Session Defaults (or, make the edits on the default directly from the Home screen, saved Sessions list, expand the New folder, select Table Comapre, and Edit Defaults).

Once the defaults are configured, test once by launching from the command line with: bcompare.exe file1.csv file2.csv
This should launch into the Table Compare and have the columns correctly configured.

From here, you can also use the command line to launch into scripting mode with: bcompare.exe @"c:\bcreports\bcscript.txt" "c:\file1.csv" "c:\file2.csv" "c:\bcreports\report.html"

where bcscript.txt would contain something like:
    data-report layout:side-by-side output-to:"%3" output-options:html-color "%1" %2"

Scripting documentation can be found in the Help file -> Using Beyond Compare -> Scripting chapter and subchapters. Also in the Scripting Reference chapter.

Command line produce table compare report

    Stuck.

    Need command line invocation:
    1. Two specified .csv files
    2. Compare first two columns, using both columns as the key value (can setup in GUI)
    3. Produce Table Compare HTML side by side report with line numbers, as plain text.

    Can I do this?
