  • Corrupt Graphics when doing multiple merges

I'm almost certain my issue is caused by BC. I can run my iMac for days without reboot absolutely fine, but when I start doing multiple text merges, I get some really intense screen flickering/corruption on my main iMac screen. Secondary monitors aren't affected. Exiting BC doesn't fix the issue, but rebooting does, until I start doing more BC based merging.

An example today: I've had several days uptime, (sleeping my machine overnight) with no problems. This afternoon, I merged roughly 20 files and my screen starts flickering and corrupting, basically rendering my main screen unusable. I then rebooted to fix the issue, and started merging again, and within minutes the issue reappeared. This has happened to me several times over the past month or two, and I can 100% say it only happens when I use BC.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anywhere I can get older or beta versions of BC from?

I'm just about to attempt another batch of merges. Right now, my machine is working normally. I'll post if I get the corruption again.

    BC Version 4.3.4 (build 24657)

    macOS: 10.14.6 (18G3020) Mojave
    Model Identifier: iMac19,1
    Processor Name: Intel Core i5
    Processor Speed: 3.1 GHz
GPU Radeon Pro 575X 4 GB
    40GB RAM

One test: if you Cmd+Q to quit fully between each merge, does this help? We've seen some reports of instability when performing multiple merges, but this usually results in the crashing; not a screen flickering. We're also working on this uptime instability issue.

Thanks Aaron, I'll give that a try!
