  • File alignment overide with regular expresion doesn't work

    Hello,

File alignment overide with regular expresion doesn't work.
I try the following with RE:
    Left: .*COMMON-1.0.0.*
    Right: .*COMMON-1.1.0.*
    and files:
    Left: BLA-COMMON-1.0.0.txt
    Right: BLA-COMMON-1.1.0.txt
    aren't aligned

But if I ucheck RE and set ('.*' replaced by '*'):
    Left: *COMMON-1.0.0*
    Right: *COMMON-1.1.0*
    Files are aligned.

OK, in my example, RE is not mandatory, but I'd like do do something requiring RE and if basic doesn't work, advence will not.

    Regards,

    Rno

    Hello,

BC4's Alignment Override feature supports a most RegEx features in the "Align Left" section, but only supports Tagged Expressions in the "Right section". The .* is not supported on the Find side. Instead, you would need to use:
    (.*)COMMON-1\.0\.0(.*)
    with
    $1COMMON-1.1.0$2

You can find the list of supported RegEx characters in the dropdown menu to the right of the textbox.
