25118 Text Compare - Why is this Unimportant Text setting failing?

I expect the first 35 characters of each line to be unimportant, but they are not:

$ is for the end of the line, I think you want ^ instead.

You can also simplify it with ^.{35} but also this won't match unless you have at least 35 characters; if the line is only 32 characters it won't activate and those would be important; you'd have to include defining a range like
^.{1,35}
