Whenever I use XML Tidied as the foramt, the line endings swith from PC to MIX. When I then switch back to Visual Studio, I get a message that the line endings are inconsistent and do I want to normalize them. Which I need to say yes to. Any chance that XML Tidied can be configured to always use the line endings of the document's being compared?

Are the mixed line endings introduced at the end of the line, or are they internal to your data somehow?
Also, which version of BC4 are you using and are you using the latest XML Tidied download from the Alternate Formats page?
Quick solution: BC4 can use the Edit menu -> Convert File, Line Endings to manually set back to PC only.
