  • Unable to compare two CSV files by ignoring unimportant columns

    Hi Team,

I have two csv files with over 650 records of same contents and header as: ( TestPlanID,TestCaseID,LocationID,Latitude,Longitud e,... ).
I am performing a table compare session using Beyond Compare 4 UI.

In the table compare session I marked the second column "TestCaseID" as unimportant and hid it.
Now, when I am attempting to show differences, I see that Beyond Compare 4 shows all 650 records as differences and the side bar is marked in blue color.

I do not understand what I am missing.

    TableCompare

    Please help !

    Thanks,
    Kalyan

    Hello,

I think the only step you are missing is to enable Ignore Unimportant Differences (the squiggly Minor toolbar button) to hide Blue Unimportant as Black Equal in display. If you are still having any trouble, please include any updated screenshots, or email support@scootersoftware.com with a link back to this forum thread with sample files, screenshots, etc.

Yeah. You were correct. I missed to ignore minor differences.
After selecting this option, this worked!

      Thank You!
